<p>The present invention provides a configuration wherein common polarizing plates are disposed between two panels that are capable of displaying three-dimensional images via a parallax barrier scheme, offering a configuration that prevents deterioration in quality of display of three-dimensional images arising from contrast ratio left-right imbalance. The configuration comprises a main panel, a switch panel that serves as the parallax barrier and that displays a slit image, a polarizing plate positioned on the view side of the main panel, a polarizing plate positioned between the main panel and the switch panel, and a polarizing plate positioned on the side of the switch panel away from the main panel. The direction of the rubbing of the switch panel orientation film has an angle inclined with respect to the absorption axis of the polarizing plates such that the contrast ratio within the viewing area of the left and right eyes on a viewing line that corresponds with the transmission axis of the polarizing plates is greater than or equal to a reference value.</p> |
