摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mixing property of fresh air and burned gas as much as possible upon reopening an exhaust valve during an intake stroke. <P>SOLUTION: The circumference edges of openings 41, 43 of a first intake port 12 and a first exhaust port 14, respectively, close to a combustion chamber 6, are chamfered to form tapered faces 51, 53 with the diameters increasing toward the combustion chamber 6.
