<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic means for diseases mediated by hyaluronic acid or its decomposition or metabolism through the control of activity or expression of a newly discovered factor, KIAA1199, relating to the decomposition of hyaluronic acid. <P>SOLUTION: There are disclosed: a hyaluronic acid decomposition promoter comprising a KIAA1199 gene and protein thereof; a hyaluronic acid decomposition inhibitor (comprising siRNA or monoclonal antibody) that characteristically inhibits the activity or expression of the hyaluronic acid decomposition promoter; and a method for screening for a novel hyaluronic acid decomposition-regulating agent using a cell that highly expresses a KIAA1199 gene transiently or stably. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
