<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell for making a search for a ligand comprising an immunity receptor which can be utilized for developing new preventive and therapeutic agents targeting obesity, and is associated with the onset or disease conditions of obesity, to provide a method for making the search for the ligand, and to provide a cell for making the search for an anti-obesity drug or an anti-metabolic syndrome drug. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided the cell which expresses one or both of RP105 and MD-1 on the cell surface, and is used for making the search for the ligand associated with the onset and/or disease conditions of the obesity in a fat cell; and the method for making the search for the ligand associated with the onset and/or disease conditions of the obesity in the fat cell including using the cell (cell for making the search). Furthermore, the method includes: bringing the cell for making the search into contact with a specimen; separating the ligand bound to the cell for making the search; and identifying the ligand.
