<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for treating a liquid, in which the liquid can be continuously and efficiently treated. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for treating the liquid includes a vessel 11 capable of holding the liquid 3 containing a substance to be treated. The liquid 3 is supplied to the inside of the vessel 11 through a liquid supply pipe 15 and sucked by a pump 25 for a liquid through a liquid discharge pipe 17 and at the same time, sucked liquid is discharged to the outside of the vessel 11. An aspirator 31 is operated by the liquid 3 discharged from the pump 25 for a liquid to decompress the inside of the vessel 11. An electrode 13 for generating plasma emits a microwave to the liquid 3 to heat the liquid 3 and generates bubbles in the liquid 3. As regards the generated bubbles, dielectric breakdown is caused by energy of the microwave in the generated bubbles to induce discharge plasma. The liquid 3 is continuously treated by performing supply/discharge of the liquid 3 to/from the vessel 11 and generation of the plasma in the vessel 11 simultaneously. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
