<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the reception operation of deposited amounts. <P>SOLUTION: The settlement device executes settlement processing of cash payment. Furthermore, the settlement device has calculation means, determination means, display means and deposit amount input means. The calculation means calculates the amount billed for each transaction. The determination means determines an estimated deposit amount in a smaller number of digits than the maximum number of digits of the minimum denomination of bills, on the basis of the calculated amount to be billed. The display means displays a plurality of selective icons indicating the amount of each denomination of the bills, and a deposit amount input screen containing one or more selective icons indicating the amount determined by the determination means, on a display unit.
