摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early detect a failure on the occurrence of the failure of an alcohol concentration sensor for detecting an alcohol concentration of fuel supplied to an engine. <P>SOLUTION: An ECU 38 corrects a fuel injection amount of a fuel injection valve 21 according to the alcohol concentration of the fuel detected by the alcohol concentration sensor 37. Furthermore, the ECU calculates an integrated value of an engine rotation speed during a prescribed period at an engine start (for example, a period during which the engine rotation speed is largely increased), compares the integrated value of the engine rotation speed and an failure determination value, and determines the presence or absence of the failure of the alcohol concentration sensor 37.
