<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus able to more accurately detect a quantity of developer remaining in a toner cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The toner cartridge 131Y is attachable to or detachable from the image forming apparatus. The toner cartridge 131Y is a bottomed, cylindrical, and long body, and has an outlet 1311Y near its lengthwise one end. Its filling space has, in order from the one nearest to the outlet 1311Y, first and second partition members 1313Y and 1314Y along the internal wall of the long body. A space from the end having the outlet 1311Y to the first partition member 1313Y is filled with developer 1315Ya. A space between both the partition members is filled with developer 1315Yb different in property from the developer 1315Ya. Both the partition members are moved toward the outlet 1311Y for supply of toner to a main body. The property is monitored, thereby monitoring which developer is discharged. Based on the result of the monitor, a quantity of developer remaining in the toner cartridge 131Y is estimated and informed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
