<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate visible confirmation of a guide image for setup or maintenance of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: A content distribution system 5 includes a server 30, a printer 20 and a portable terminal 10. The printer 20 transmits a content display request to the server 30 and the server 30 determines contents corresponding to a state of the printer 20 and a display range of the contents on the basis of the content display request, generates link information uniquely corresponding to the contents and the display range and transmits the link information to the portable terminal 10. The portable terminal 10 receives, displays the link information and transmits a content transmission request corresponding to the displayed link information to the server 30.
