<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary dryer enabling drying at low temperature (e.g., 100°C or less) by using steam having a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure and achieving a high heat transfer rate from steam to heating tubes. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary dryer 1 includes: a cylindrical body 2; the plurality of heating tubes 11, 12 installed in the cylindrical body 2; and a steam generator 7 supplying steam S1 to the heating tubes 11, 12.
