<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a decompression waiting time when reproducing contents while increasing available space in a storage part. <P>SOLUTION: A contents processing method for contents data D1 stored in a HDD comprises: a step S2 for compressing multiple contents data parts D2#1 to #6 which are obtained by dividing the stored contents data D1; a step S3 for converting the contents data D1 into multiple compressed contents data parts D3#1 to #6; a step S4 for decompressing the multiple compressed contents data parts D3#1 to #6 sequentially; and a step 5 for reproducing multiple decompressed contents data parts D4#1 to #6 sequentially from the first decompressed contents data part D4#1.
