<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the timing for automatically stopping an engine of a vehicle, even if a sensor for detecting brake manipulated variable by a driver or fluid pressure in a master cylinder is not used. <P>SOLUTION: A brake ECU calculates vehicle body acceleration G based on a detection signal from an acceleration sensor and calculates MC pressure acceleration Amc corresponding to MC pressure Pmc in the master cylinder based on the vehicle acceleration G. The brake ECU calculates gradient acceleration Ag corresponding to the gradient of a road surface. When an absolute value of the MC pressure acceleration Amc reaches or exceeds an absolute value of the gradient acceleration Ag, the brake ECU performs a stopping control permitting automatic stopping of the engine (third timing t13). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
