<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent an unnecessary refresh process. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device includes grouping means and refresh control means. The grouping means groups a set of tracks on a disk into a plurality of groups including a plurality of tracks including two or more tracks at discontinuous physical locations.
