The exhaust gas system has an exhaust tract (10) and an exhaust gas recirculation system which branches off from the exhaust tract that is provided with a pipe (3) and exhaust gas treating unit (19). Multiple pipelines (17,20) are formed for exhaust gas. One pipeline conducts the main exhaust gas flow, where the other pipeline conducts the exhaust gas partial flow that is diverted towards the exhaust gas recirculation system. The exhaust gas treating unit has a particle filter (2) or oxidation catalyst (18) or nitrogen oxide storage catalyst. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating exhaust gas system. |
