In the disclosed method a dot pattern is formed on a medium, said pattern being a stream dot pattern which is formed in one line or by lining up a plurality thereof, and the stream dot pattern being arranged according to: a step wherein a plurality of reference dots are arranged consecutively in a line; a step wherein a first virtual reference line is provided, said line being formed of a straight line, a polygonal line and/or a curved line and connecting the plurality of dots; a step wherein at least one second virtual reference line is provided, said line being formed of a straight line and/or a curved line and being defined in a specified position from the reference dots and/or the first virtual reference line; a step wherein a plurality of virtual reference points are provided in positions on the second virtual reference line; and a step wherein information dots, wherein XY coordinate values and/or code values are defined, are arranged at end points created by vectors having the virtual reference points as start points. The medium is read as image data by an optical reading means, the dot pattern in the image data is analysed, converted to XY coordinate values and/or code values, and multimedia information corresponding to the XY coordinate values and/or the code values is read-out from a storage means and outputted. |
