<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a temporary card which may temporarily be usable when a user forgot to carry a card with him to be registered by an user operation, and to prevent degradation of the security by limiting devices allowing use of the temporary card. <P>SOLUTION: An information processing system receives a registration request including a card number user ID which is temporarily used and an IP address of a multifunction printer from the multifunction printer, registers them in an authentication table.
