摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regenerate a DPF (diesel particulate filter) even under the condition of a low exhaust temperature. <P>SOLUTION: An engine 1 includes an oxidation catalyst 41a disposed in an exhaust passage 40 and a DPF 41b disposed downstream the oxidation catalyst 41a in the exhaust passage 40. The engine 1 also includes a PCM (power train control module) 10 that carries out filter regeneration of the DPF 41b. The PCM has an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) mode for regenerating the filter while carrying out internal EGR via VVM (variable valve motion) 71 when the engine 1 is in an operation region E with low rotation and low load. The EGR mode includes a low load mode that makes an injector 18 perform after-injection in addition to main-injection and post-injection when the engine 1 is in a region e2 with a relatively low load, and a high load mode that makes the injector 18 perform the main-injection and post-injection but no after-injection when the engine 1 is in a region e1 with a relatively high load. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
