<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique allowing reduction of power consumption in an image formation device comprising an external interface (I/F) enabling a plug-and-play such as USB host connector. <P>SOLUTION: An image formation device comprises a USB device connector part 4 for receiving a USB device 100, a 5V power source 5b for supplying electricity to the USB device connector part 4, and a control section 6 for controlling starting or stopping supplying electricity to the USB device connector part 4 from the 5V power source 5b. The device also includes a switch 9 for switching on when the USB device 100 is connected to the USB device connector part 4.
