PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high brightness and high contrast color filter and a high quality liquid crystal display device and organic EL display device.

SOLUTION: An additive for dispersing pigments is characterized by comprising a compound represented by a formula (1) (wherein A1represents a 6C-14C aromatic cyclic group which may have a substituent or a group constituted such that the two to three aromatic cycles are coupled; Y1and Y2represent a 1C-6C alkyl group which may have a substituent or 6C-10C aromatic cyclic group which may have a substituent; B1and B2represent each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a group represented by -N=N-X1; X1represents a 3C-10C aromatic cyclic group which may have a substituent, provided that at least one of B1and B2is a group shown by -N=N-X1and further, in the case a plurality of -N=N-X1are included in one molecule the structures may be the same or different).
