<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid unexpected unlock from outside by unlocking contrary to a user's intent. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric lock system, readers 2 are arranged at an indoor side and an outdoor side respectively in the vicinity of a door, and the readers 2 comprise at least: operating means 11 which operates locking and unlocking of the electric lock; receiving means 12 which receives specific information necessary for locking and unlocking the electric lock from a non-contact medium 4 by non-contacting communication; and control means 13 which controls for an operation by the operating means 11 after the correct authentication of the information of the non-contact medium 4 acquired by the receiving means 12 and which controls for locking and unlocking the electric lock. In the electric lock system, when a person detection sensor 10 which is installed in the vicinity of the door correctly authenticates the information of the non-contacting medium 4 with the condition of detecting a person who is in the vicinity of the door indoors, unlocking operation by the operating means 11 is controlled to the state of being ineffective.
