PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microporous film that has superior high-temperature cyclability, productivity, and easiness in cell formation, especially when used as a separator, and provide a method of manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: The microporous film contains a resin composition containing a mixture of polypropylene and polyethylene as a principal component, wherein the mixture contains 50 mass% or more of the polypropylene, and a coefficient of dynamic friction on a surface is 0.55 or less.
