<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tandem printer which prevents deterioration of printing performance due to occurrence of waiting time necessary for switching a paper feed tray when non-paper error occurs without causing cost increase. <P>SOLUTION: The tandem printer includes a front printer 101, rear printer 102 and a remaining paper counter which increments a count number every page when the paper is supplied from a paper feeder to the front printer 101, and decrements the count number every page when printing of the paper completes at the rear printer 102. When non-paper error occurs during operation of multiple page printing (S210), the front printing control device 104 executes a recovery treatment (S211), and when the remaining paper counter indicates zero, the rear printing control device 105 executes the recovery treatment (S212). Then, when the front printing control device 104 receives a notice of completion of the recovery treatment from the rear printing control device 105, the switch to a paper feed tray which can feed papers is performed in the paper feeder (S213). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
