<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus, an image forming apparatus, and an image reading method which can precisely scan line data even during through-up processing and through-down processing occurring due to intermittent reading operation and obtain image data in high quality. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus includes a feeding drum 15 which rotates along with a document feeding and is provided with a document feeding amount detection pattern P around its peripheral surface; reading means consists of a reflection mirror, an illumination lamp, an imaging lens and a CCD to read a document, which passes through a reading position, with the document feeding amount detection pattern P by setting a peripheral surface of the feeding drum 15 as a background; an image data reception part to determine the necessity of line data in sub-scanning direction of document image data by inspecting an image of the document feeding amount detection pattern P and input the determination result to an image processing part; and the image processing part to capture only necessary line data in accordance with the determination result of the image reception part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
