<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sophisticatedly use a shelf reinforcement plate having a V-shaped cross section and installed on a shelf board lower face side of a merchandise display shelf, eliminate thermal effects by heat generation by a fluorescent lamp, and thus, make improvements to enhance interior cold storage performance. <P>SOLUTION: In this cold air circulation type open showcase, with respect to a body case having an opened front face and including the merchandise display shelves 8 juxtaposed at upper and lower stages on the interior side, a cold air curtain is formed on the interior front face, and a cold air flow B is blown out toward the lower face sides of the merchandise display shelves 8 from the interior back face. In the merchandise display shelf 8, the shelf reinforcement plate 8b having the V-shaped cross section is installed on the lower face of the shelf board 8a in the longitudinal direction of the shelf 8, and the fluorescent lamp 9 is arranged in front of the shelf reinforcement plate 8b. A bending angle of the shelf reinforcement plate 8b is set so that a rear wall face of the shelf reinforcement plate 8b faces a front end of the lower merchandise display shelf 8 at one stage, and air guiding holes 9b-1 to 9b-3 are bored on front and rear wall faces of the shelf reinforcement plate 8b so as to guide cold air flows B2, B3a diverging from the cold air flow B to a region around the fluorescent lamp 9.
