<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that improves cooling performance while preventing generation of excessive drag resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 10 includes: a rotating shaft 18 that has a shaft-side coolant passage 42 through which oil passes; a rotor 16 fixed to a radially outer side of the rotating shaft 18; and a stator 14. The rotor 16 has: a rotor core 28; an end plate 32 in contact with an axial end surface of the rotor core 28; a first rotor-side coolant passage 46 that is provided between the rotor core 28 and the end plate 32 so as to communicate with the shaft-side coolant passage 42 and with an axially outer surface of the end plate 32; and a second rotor-side coolant passage 52. The second rotor-side coolant passage 52 is provided on a radially outer side of the first rotor-side coolant passage 46 through a contact region between the end plate 32 and the rotor core 28 so as to be positioned on a radially inner side with respect to an outer periphery of the end plate 32, and is allowed to communicate with the axially outer surface of the end plate 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
