<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and stably detect the toner amount of a toner image such as a toner patch formed on an image carrier such as an intermediate transfer belt. <P>SOLUTION: A toner amount measuring device comprises a light-emitting element 16a for irradiating light towards an intermediate transfer belt 7, and a light receiving element 16b for receiving a reflection light reflected by a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 7. The toner amount measuring device calculates a toner amount of the toner image in accordance with the light amount of the reflection light. The light receiving element 16b is arranged in a manner so that an angle is equal to or less than 15 degrees between a line linking the light emitting element 16a and a light irradiation point on the intermediate transfer belt 7, and a line linking the irradiation point and the light receiving element 16b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
