<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detection device that can detect a rotation angle even when an output signal of only one magnetic detection section is obtained owing to a fault. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation angle detection device includes a magnet, a magnetic detection section, and a calculation section. The magnetic detection section has a first magnetic detection section and a second magnetic detection section which are provided apart from each other so that output signals have a phase difference of 90° (270°). The calculation section has a first generation section which generates a cosine wave signal based upon a sine wave signal output from the first magnetic detection section, and a second generation section which generates a sine wave signal based upon a cosine wave signal output from the second magnetic detection section. Then the calculation section computes the rotation angle of a rotary body based upon one normal sine wave signal between the sine wave signals output from the first magnetic detection section and the second generation section respectively, and one normal cosine wave signal between the cosine wave signals output from the second magnetic detection section and the first generation section respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
