<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dual core self-centered brace device that can increase its own extension amount when an earthquake occurs. <P>SOLUTION: A dual core self-centered brace device which is installed in a building includes: a first core member 31; at least one second core member 32; an external sleeve 35 arranged around the first core member 31 and the second core member 32; two internal bearing plates 33 and 34 for supporting two end sections of the first core member 31, respectively; two external bearing plates 37 and 38 for supporting two end sections of the second core member 32, respectively; a plurality of extension members 431 and 432; and an energy dissipation section for delaying relative movement between the first core member 31 and the external sleeve 35. When external force is applied, respective lengths of the extension elements 431 and 432 are increased by the extension amount, and the whole lengths of the first core member 31 and the external sleeve 35 are increased by the amount which is twice as much as the extension amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
