<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fixed abrasive grain saw wire and the fixed abrasive grain saw wire in which abrasive grains are adhered so that the sharp ends thereof face outward. <P>SOLUTION: A steel wire 3 which comprises fine recesses on the surface and is in a dry state is run through the inner space of a solenoid coil through which current flows to magnetize the steel wire 3 so as to have a leakage flux emitted in the direction perpendicular to the surface. The magnetized steel wire 3 is passed through an abrasive grain flow tank in which nickel-precoated diamond abrasive grains are deposited so as to be able to flow to adhere the abrasive grains to the surface of the steel wire 3 by a magnetic force. The steel wire 3 to which the abrasive grains are adhered is passed through a bath in which a nickel solution is reserved to apply an electrolytic nickel plating to the steel wire.
