<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce scratches, or the like, on a recording medium while reducing variation in temperature distribution on a line with multiple heating parts arranged thereon. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal head X includes: a substrate 7; a heating part array including multiple heating parts 9 formed on the substrate and each occupying a partial region of an electric resistance layer 15 formed on the substrate 7; and pairs of electrode wires 17c, 19 including a conductive layer formed on the electric resistance layer 15 and connected with the multiple heating parts 9 for each group of heating parts 9A composed of multiple heating parts 9 constituting each pixel in the heating part array. The pairs of electrode wires 17c, 19 have, in facing regions, multiple connections 17G, 19G arranged for the multiple heating parts 9, and grooves 17H, 19H for separating the multiple connections 17G, 19G from each other.
