<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine a local sound velocity even when the sound velocity of a subject is not uniform and the reception time at each lattice cannot be approximated by an ambient sound velocity. <P>SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnosis apparatus includes: an ultrasonic probe including a plurality of ultrasonic transducers which transmit ultrasonic waves to a subject, receive the ultrasonic waves reflected by the subject, and output ultrasonic detection signals; a reception time calculator which calculates at least one of the reception time and a reception wave at each of elements corresponding to two or more lattice points at different depths in the subject with respect to the ultrasonic probe; and a local sound velocity calculator which calculates the local sound velocity which is a sound velocity in a local region, using the calculated reception time or reception wave. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
