<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and electronic equipment using the same capable of high contrast performance and carrying out a vivid color display. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 1 includes: a display layer 5 including a cell 51 where first particles A, second particles B and third particles C having different colors from each other are stored; a front surface side electrode 32 arranged on a front surface side of the display layer 5; and a back surface side electrode 921 and a back surface side electrode 922 arranged corresponding to the cell 51 on the back surface side of the display layer 5. The first particles A are charged positively or negatively. The second particles B: are colored in a complementary color relationship with the first particles A; are charged to a polarity opposite to that of the first particles A; and furthermore, have smaller charged amount than the first particles A. In such display device 1, portions where the first particles A and the second particles B are distributed unevenly are set in a state having the third particles C dispersed in the cell 51 and the color in the cell 51 which is visible from the front surface side electrode 32 is changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
