<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate in which the use amount of a catalyst in a production process is small and the impurities contained therein are also small. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: reacting (meth)acrylic acid with alkylene oxide in the presence of chromium acetate to obtain a reaction solution in which the residual ratio of (meth)acrylic acid is <0.5 mass%; collecting hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate from the reaction solution to obtain a liquid including a chromium compound as a residue; reacting (meth)acrylic acid with alkylene oxide in the presence of the residue and chromium acetate of 0.00004-0.0003 mol based on 1 mol of (meth)acrylic acid as a catalyst; and collecting hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate from the reaction solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
