<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, when using envelopes with superposed portions as recording members, capable of suppressing the generation of deviation and creases at the superposed portions of the recording materials and improving the productivity while securing the stable conveyance and fixation properties. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus includes: a fixation section 24, while nipping and conveying an envelope E carrying a toner-non-fixed image as a recording material, heating and melting non-fixed toner and fixing it to the envelope E; a fixation nip load changing section 41 for changing the fixation nip load of the fixation section 24; a resist sensor 30 for detecting the conveying-directional length of the envelope E; and a control circuit 42 for decreasing the fixation nip load and a fixation linear velocity in a range from a midway part of the length of the envelope E to the upstream end, which is detected by the resist sensor 30 in the nip conveyance process of the envelope E by the fixation section 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
