The present invention relates to a wound dressing (1) including a wound pad (2) of absorbent material having a first side and a second side opposite thereto, a backing layer (3) covering the wound pad on the first side thereof an adhesive layer (4) for attaching the dressing to skin. According to the invention the backing layer (3) has at least one conductive region (7) and consists of plastic film.
