<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attractive see-through organic EL display which has excellent display quality without making an element structure complicated, and in which a display part and its peripheral area are closed in transparency to each other. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes the display part in which a plurality of organic EL elements each having a first electrode, an organic EL layer and a second electrode stacked in order on a substrate having transparency are arrayed in two dimensions so as to constitute pixels. One of the first electrode and second electrode has transparency and the other have no transparency, the electrode having no transparency being arranged to be present only at a part of each pixel (for example, made to have a width narrower than a pixel width) when viewed from a plane so that light can be transmitted in the display part through a part in the pixel where the electrode having no transparency is not arranged. Further, a dummy electrode is arranged in the region outside the display part so as to put light permeability of the area outside the display part close to light permeability of the display part by decreasing the light permeability of the area outside the display part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
