<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow reliable separation of a recording sheet from a conveying surface with a separation pawl and improved durability of the separation pawl. <P>SOLUTION: A recording sheet S is separated from an intermediate transfer belt 18 to guide into a fixing unit 30 by a transfer separation pawl 41 that is in a first state where a predetermined inclination angle is formed with respect to a conveyance direction of a recording sheet S conveyed by the intermediate transfer belt 18 after a toner image is transferred onto the recording sheet conveyed by the intermediate transfer belt 18. The transfer separation pawl 41 can be adjusted to a second state having an inclination angle smaller than the inclination angle of the first state with respect to the conveyance direction of the recording sheet conveyed by the intermediate transfer belt 18 within limits in which both a change in a separating position of the recording sheet S from the intermediate transfer belt 18 and a change in a guiding direction of the recording sheet S separated from the intermediate transfer belt 18 by the transfer separation pawl 41 are respectively acceptable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
