<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wanderer detection system that can correctly discern a monitored person who approaches his/her own bed from a monitored person who wanders and can warn of a wanderer, while discerning a person who does not need to be monitored from a person to be monitored. <P>SOLUTION: The system is provided with a leaving-landing sensor 1 for detecting bed-leaving and bed-arriving of a monitored person by having the monitored person carry a transmitter 3; a footing sensor 2 for detecting a person near the bed; and a receiver 4 for receiving a transmitter signal from the transmitter 3 with the point above the footing sensor 2 included in the reception range. When the system detects a person near the bed and then ceases to detect the person without receiving a transmitter signal while detecting bed-arriving of the user of the bed, the system warns of a wanderer, determining that a monitored person, without carrying the transmitter 3, approaches and walks away from the bed.
