A backlight module (10) and an LCD (20) are provided. The backlight module (10) comprises a power supply end (21) for generating a supply voltage; a converter (24) which is electrically connected with the power supply end (21) comprises a switch signal generator (40) for generating switch signals, wherein when the switch signal is in the first level, the converter (24) converts the supply voltage into a positive level driving voltage, when the switch signal is in the second level, the converter (24) converts the supply voltage into a negative level driving voltage, and the positive level driving voltage and the negative level driving voltage are generated alternately; and a light emitting device (22) which is electrically connected with the converter (24) for generating light according to the positive level driving voltage or the negative level driving voltage transmitted by the converter (24).
