A method of noise filtering of a digital video sequence to reduce ghosting artifacts is disclosed. A described example of the method includes computing motion values for pixels in a frame of the digital video sequence based on a reference frame (302), computing blending factors for the pixels based on the motion values (304), generating filtered output pixel values by applying the blending factors to corresponding pixel values in the reference frame and the frame (306), wherein selected filtered output pixel values are converged (e.g., step-wise or instantly) toward corresponding pixel values in the frame to reduce ghosting artifacts (308), and outputting the filtered frame (310). A noise filter and a digital system for filtering a digital video sequence to reduce ghosting artifacts are also disclosed. |
