The ex-vivo method for the early diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy by means of the determination of 3-nitrotyrosine in serum relates to an ex-vivo method for the detection and early diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) in patients with hepatic diseases, including cirrhosis, based on the presence in serum of specific biomarkers, specifically by means of the determination of 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NT), which comprises obtaining serum or plasma obtained from the blood of patients and controls, and determining whether or not the measurement of the concentration of 3-nitrotyrosine obtained is greater than a specific level.
