<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a water heater of latent heat recovery type having a configuration suitable for business use, capable of suppressing a refilling frequency of neutralizer, and capable of suppressing a replacing frequency of a neutralizing machine itself. <P>SOLUTION: At the time when predicting a consumption amount of a neutralizer, a condition factor is determined by distinguishing the case where the hot water in a hot water storage tank 55 is predicted to keep the situations of being re-heated, from the case where the hot water in a re-circulation path 33 is predicted to be re-heated, and from the case where the water is predicted to be heated for supplying water from a hot water supply faucet 60.
