EXHAUST PURIFICATION SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust purification system that improves a purification performance at a low temperature right after an internal combustion engine is started in a plasma generation device and a fuel reformer in the exhaust purification system including an NOx adsorption catalyst.

SOLUTION: The exhaust purification system 1 includes: the NOx adsorption catalyst 42 that is disposed in an exhaust pipe 4 and catches an emitted NOx; a plasma reactor 43 for oxidizing the emitted NOx flowing into the NOx adsorption catalyst 42; the fuel reformer 5 for generating a reformed gas including hydrogen by a reforming catalyst from fuel and air; a glow plug for heating reforming catalyst; and an ECU7 for driving the plasma reactor 43 at the start of an engine and driving the glow plug and starting to heat the reforming catalyst while starting to oxidizing the emitted NOx of the engine 2.
