<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine an interval in an arrangement direction of a plurality of liquid ejection heads to be an appropriate interval according to a state of use, while suppressing deterioration of printing quality, by enabling a plurality of liquid ejection heads to move in an arrangement direction. <P>SOLUTION: The printer has four heads 10 arranged in a row in a sub-scanning direction. Each head 10 has a plurality of nozzles arranged in a main scanning direction, and can move in the sub-scanning direction by a movement mechanism. Then, the printer determines positions of the four heads 10 in the sub-scanning direction and the interval of the four heads 10 in the sub-scanning direction by a head interval determination unit according to recording operation time or maintenance operation time or a printing mode, and moves the four heads 10 at the interval by the movement mechanism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
