Level detection device in a casting equipment (13) oscillating linearly, in a manner concordant with a substantially vertical direction of advance (A) of the steel and a desired frequency of oscillation, wherein the device is solid with the casting equipment (13) so as to oscillate at the same frequency of oscillation and is disposed at a predetermined operating height. The device comprises, or is associated with, means to generate a continuous magnetic field (21), oriented transversely to the direction of advance of the steel in the casting equipment (13), so as to generate alternate induced currents (23) in the molten steel. The device also comprises means (28) to detect the magnetic field configured to detect a variable induced magnetic field (25) generated by and concatenated with said alternate induced currents (23), wherein the intensity of the variable induced magnetic field (25) as detected by the detection means (28) is correlated to the level of the molten steel in the casting equipment (13) with respect to the operating height. |
