The compressor has a housing rotatable against a rotational axis and receives an air flow against a compressor wheel. A guide device is arranged in a wheel inlet region along a flow direction of a medium upstream of the compressor wheel, where the flow of the medium is influenced by the guide device. A pre-rotation of the medium flow is generated by the guide device. The guide device comprises a set of guide vanes that is evenly distributed and arranged in a circumferential direction of the compressor wheel over the periphery of the guide device.
