PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate user's music selection work by automatically selecting a music to be reproduced in synchronization with images.

SOLUTION: A music selection apparatus 1 for selecting the music to be reproduced in synchronization with images comprises a music retrieval module 13 which selects a music having a time-series feature amount highly correlated with that of an image selected by the user. The music retrieval module 13 computes the relative value of the time-series feature amount of each music which becomes a candidate of synchronous reproduction to the time-series feature amount of the selected image. Moreover, the music retrieval module 13 computes, as the relative value, the cross-correlation coefficient of the respective time-series feature amounts of the selected image and each music which becomes the candidate of the synchronous reproduction.
