<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality image by suppressing a temperature drop of a longitudinal end of a heating rotor in an image heating apparatus of external heating type. <P>SOLUTION: A fixation device 10 allows a contact unit 6 to clamp and convey a recording material 4 and heats the recording material with the heat of a fixation roller 1 that is heated by heating means 3. In the fixation device 10, at least either one of the fixation roller 1 and a pressurizing roller 2 is provided with, in a rotation axis direction, an elastic layer (a low heat-conductive layer 12) which has parts whose thermal conductivity is lower than the thermal conductivity of a central part, at both sides of the central part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
