<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display positions of scars and smears in a manner well recognizable by a user and thereby to make possible avoidance of unnecessary replacement. <P>SOLUTION: In a picture formation device, that forms a toner mark pattern used for correcting any positional deviation of a picture on an intermediate transfer belt 10, reads the pattern with a toner mark sensor 120 to detect any positional deviation of the picture, and corrects the positional deviation to form a picture, the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 10 is read by the toner mark sensor in a state in which no picture is formed, any abnormality on the surface of a pattern-formed member, e.g. the presence or absence of a scar B, and the position of abnormality occurrence are detected on the basis of the result of the reading, and information indicating the position of the abnormality is written onto the intermediate transfer belt in the position of occurrence of the pertinent abnormality as a flaw indicating message C to enable the user to recognize the abnormality occurrence position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
