<p>A traveller 1 for safety line for a fall arrest system has a slot 4 extending to the exterior of the traveller. The slot 4 can be defined between opposed slot edges 2a, 2b which are movable relative to one another to reconfigure the slot. The slot may have an open condition allowing mounting/demounting of the traveller on the safety line, and a closed (use) condition in which the slot remains, but the size is reduced to ensure the traveller remains on the safety line. The slot edges may be provided on paddles (102c, 102d, see figure 6) which may be oriented under gravity. Reconfiguration may be inhibited when a karabiner is inserted through aligned apertures (see figures 35-37). A safety line locating shuttle 15 may be provided on-board the traveller, wherein the shuttle is movable relative to the slot along a predetermined path in a direction across the slot (see figures 1-3). An arm 11 with an eye 10 to attach a karabiner etc extends out from the body 2 and crosses below the level of the safety line receiving zone.</p> |
